Prayer for The Gift of My Spouse

“Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of my spouse. In the busyness of our lives, I do not always take the time to stop and enjoy this gift that you have given me. Sometimes I get frustrated or impatient with my spouse instead of being loving and empathetic. Help me to love my spouse just as they are instead of trying to change them. Help me to see them as you do. Please soften my heart so that I can be more open to the path that you desire for us. Help me to deny myself and carry my cross so that I can become a more holy person and a Servant Spouse. Please send your holy spirit to guide and encourage us. Amen!”

  1. Beautiful! Sometimes I don’t even realize that I am trying to mold My husband into the man I want for him to be instead of celebrating the man God created him to be. It’s not easy. Especially when I feel hurt by some of his choices. For example. On the weekends Ny husband often tries to get caught up with household projects. Well he views that as good and productive and taking care of his family. I on the other hand want him to spend time with me and the kids. Hopefully next time I can view his need to do projects as a blessing instead trial.

    1. I think that if all of us are honest we realize that we do try to mold and change our spouse. Our motives are usually pure but realizing that God is the molder and we are the clay can help us learn to appreciate our spouse, even their imperfections. We are all on a journey to holiness and as a spouse one of our jobs is to help our spouse grow in holiness and get into heaven; learning what our role is in that process can only be found in prayer. Love hearing from you!! God Bless you and your husband always~~

  2. I’ve been surfing online greater than 3 hours today, but I by no means found any attention-grabbing article like yours. It is pretty value sufficient for me. In my opinion, if all website owners and bloggers made just right content material as you probably did, the net shall be a lot more useful than ever before.
